The Strange and Terrible Odyssey of Peter Ginz
A Surreal Discovery

There was a little boy in Czechoslovakia who was half Jewish (his Dad) and half Catholic (his mom) who lived during the 1930's and early 40's. He was a somewhat prolific artist and he wrote stories and mused about future science fiction, and travel, and adventure. He wrote and illustrated a story which he bound into a homemade book and which he posed as a recently discovered unknown book by Jules Verne which he pretended to have translated into the Czech language. This was when he was about 14 years old.
By 14 he had written five little novels and kept a diary about the Nazi occupation of Prague. By 15 he had produced 170 drawings and paintings, edited an underground magazine in the Jewish ghetto, and written numerous short stories.
There was a documentary video of his short life which I watched when I heard about one of the stories that he wrote. Finding the DVD in the library I watched it with interest. The plot of the story he wrote as the previously unknown Jules Verne novel was this: There was a great prehistoric monster like a dinosaur discovered on a lake in the Congo. All these diffferent nations came up against it but were unable to defeat it. Then it was discovered that it was not a creature at all but a giant mechanical monster run by an evil man. Soldiers of several nations failed against it. Then a soldier destroyed it when it went into a mountain cave at the shore of the lake. Peter's still living sister said that it was clearly a symbolic reference to Hitler and indeed watching the video and seeing the illustrations and listening to the story written by this boy, it was very convincing that young Peter did indeed have this in mind.
But it was the last line of his story that was most remarkable. In this illustrated story of a giant robotic creature used by an evil government to terrorize people, he ends the book with this warning: "Is it not possible that a new monster may appear on the surface of this earth, worse than this one- a monster that...will torture mankind in a terrible manner?"
Surreal! Hitler was a kind of antichrist and indeed, a worse one by far will "appear on the surface of the earth". Both Daniel and Revelation refer to this future empire as a beast- a kind of a monster. Peter was eventually put into concentration camps along with his family and many, many others. A website on one of the first camps states:

"On June 10, 1940, after expelling the 7000 people who had lived in the walled town of Terezin, the Gestapo took control. It was turned into a ghetto and renamed: Theresienstadt. Just 38 miles from Czechoslovakia, originally, it was supposed to house only privileged Jews from Czechoslovakia, Germany and Austria. Many educated Jews were inmates, and the camp was publicized by the Nazis for its rich cultural life.
[this was a propaganda effort to deceive the western allies]
To ensure that its victims went to Theresienstadt without resistance, the Nazis used deceit. To the elderly, they made it seem like a resort where older people could reside in comfort; and later, where Jews could live in their own city. ―'The Fuhrer Builds the Jews a City' blasted the headlines".

Eventually, Peter was taken from there to Auschvitz along with some male relatives. Peter's sister believed he was still alive as late as March of 1945 and had boarded a train with an uncle to somewhere else- but in reality the Nazi's murdered him in the gas chambers at Auschvitz in Sept. of 1944.
Not long before this the adult Jews around him were going to renounce their faith because of all that had happened to them. Peter  -15 at that time-wrote in his diary that he was going to do the same. At the end of the war, his sister returned home and a few relatives survived. They waited for Peter to come home and his sister would write no more in her diary til he came home. But in 1947 she added to her diary that he had not come home.

The video called The Last Flight of Peter Ginz discussed how few survivors there were from the various camps. For instance, of the 100 boys who had produced Vedem- a magazine in the first camp he was sent (and he was the editor), 15 survived. One of them, Zdenek Taussig had remained in Theresienstadt all the way until its liberation in May, 1945. He had hidden one copy of Vedem in the blacksmith shop where his father worked and brought it back to Prague when they were liberated. But it was further suppressed in Czechoslovakia for 50 more years during the Communist regime.

I was thinking of the judgement that the Lord brought on the Germans for their mass murder of all these moms, dads, children, elderly, etc. and how they took all their money and houses and even their gold teeth. The result at the end of the war was the entire German nation begged for bread from allied troops at war's end, with their cities in ruin, 4 million dead, 20 million homeless, all their principal cities bombed beyond all recognition. Indeed Hitler had promised the Germans, "Give me 5 years and I promise you, you will not recognize your cities." It was as if the Lord said, "Very well then, It shall be as you have said."  And they were were indeed beyond all recognition. Amos 3:6 says "When disaster comes to a city, has not the Lord caused it?" German POW's were kept as slaves in Russia for 10 years (or more), their women raped by the Russians, and Germany was kept divided- half under the hated communists for 50 more years. East Germany was in fact under the most iron grip of all the iron curtain countries.

Regarding judgements that come on nations, I am now going to suddenly talk about something so radically different that you may think I have lost my reasoning, but here goes- bear with me.   In chapter 8 and the beginning of chapter 9 of the book of Revelation, there are four descriptions, not of four different things, but four different descriptions, of ONE big thing, and its many geophysical consequences. And here are those four descriptions of that one big thing, in the order presented: The first description begins in heaven and is the supernatural inauguration of the event in its potent spiritual form. It says: ".Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it onto the earth..."(Chapter 8 verse 5).

The second description of that object, now in its physical form, is this: "..something like a huge mountain, entirely ablaze, was thrown into the sea." (verse 8).

The third description of that object begins thus: "..a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and springs of water." (verse 10)

The fourth description says: "I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth." (Ch 9 verse 1). It then describes in the very next line the principal immediate geophysical consequence of this falling star which struck the earth: "The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. When he opened the Abyss, the smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace."

Now, Putting all the geophysical effects from chapter 8 and 9 together from this one huge object, reveals the following list of consequences "..there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up-- a third of all the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was  burned up" (ch.8 verse 7)  "A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed" (ch 8 verse 8-9) "A third of the waters turned bitter and many people died from the waters that had become bitter."  (ch 8 verse 11)  Then next geophysical consequence described is: "..a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night." (ch 8 verse 12) As we have already read above, this falling star created an abyss and: "smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace." The consequences are stated in the next sentence:  "The sun and the sky were darkened by the smoke from the abyss." (ch. 9 verse 2)

So, my friends, there you have it- what is that one big thing?- That one BIG thing that falls like a blazing star to the earth, is like a giant mountain entirely ablaze, hits the ocean causing a gigantic furnace-like abyss spewing smoke which covers a third of the globe, generating a tsunami which destroys a third of mankind's shipping, turns a third of the oceans toxic red, sends the same iron-red seawater as ejecta around the globe falling as blood rain on a third of the world's watersheds, and incinerates one third of earth's forests and ALL it's grasslands?  Ezekiel  29:47 says of this event: " The blazing flame will not be quenched, and every face from north to south will be scorched by it."
If you still don't know what this thing is yet, just wait, and I will continue the story of Peter Ginz.

The video seemed to be about over when suddenly it showed a radically different scene and I sat there wondering what was going on. This next scene was recently filmed in the Negev desert in Israel high on a hill with an observatory and a young astronomer was there talking to Peter's now elderly sister named ?who now lives in Israel. He was about to show her something. I sat there puzzled. Everything in this last part of the film was different. It was today in living color, and all the previous scenes were mainly in 1940's black and white. Much of the scenes in the past were cloudy, whereas this was brilliant sunlight with a blue sky. I'm wondered what this place or scene had to do with Peter's ultimate fate or story.   Peter's elderly sister goes inside the observatory, the young astronomer turns on the computer, and shows her an astronomical object that Czech astonomers recently discovered and named after her brother Peter, who it turns out later became well known to the Czech Jews due to his science fiction stories and holocaust diary. Like the Anne Frank of Czechoslovakia. Like her male counterpart. So much so that they wanted to honor his memory by naming this astronomical object with his name.   And there it was on the screen-- it was an asteroid!!       I sat straight up and was speechless! Do you believe this? I find this video out of the blue and sit through it to take a break from thinking about the asteroid judgement of the Lord. And when I am watching it, this happens! You could have knocked me over with a feather! The Lord is surely going to bring judgement on the earth with an asteroid, the precise thing which all of Revelation 8 points to as initiating the Day of the Lord.
Many prophecies make it quite clear that the antichrist forces are struck dead at this time.  And here is a large asteroid named after a young boy, both Jew and gentile, who himself prophesies the coming of the antichrist, and is murdered by the antichrist forces of the earth in his time. Moreover, he is led by the unbelieving Jews around him to renounce his faith. Amazing and disturbing at the same time!
Shortly after this something else struck me out of the blue- The very meaning of Peter's name!  Peter= Petra  which means the rock! The very thing an asteroid is! As an even more surreal post script to this- I discovered that one of Peter's stories he wrote is called Crazy August. August says shortly before the end "We circle out of habit and we must die." (precisely what an asteroid does) " We want to be ourselves and we sacrifice everything for this price" (precisely what all sinners do and why judgement comes) There is a huge explosion at the end of the story (precisely what an asteroid striking the earth does) and in the very last line of the story Peter says "..in the blaze of the explosion, Peter saw the light of The Great Communion"
After this, a friend of mine pointed out the most amazing event. A drawing by Peter showing the earth from the moon, was taken aboard the space shuttle Columbia by Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon (whose own mother and grandmother were survivors of the same concentration camp as Peter was killed) and on Feb. 1, 2003, precisely 75 years to the very day Peter was born, upon re-entering earth's atmosphere, the space shuttle Columbia disintegrated and burned up like a blazing asteroid killing all aboard. Even the drawing showed earth as an asteroid might see it on its way to collision.

This asteroid is not a small asteroid- It's asteroid # 50413, discovered Feb. 27, 2000 by husband and wife Czech astronomers. It's big enough among the countless hundreds of thousands to be given its own name - in fact it would be a global catastrophic planet killer of awesome proportions.  Just like that prophesed in Revelation 8 and 9, and other places throughout scriptures. So big, it would, if it struck the earth, cause it to wobble on its axis. The prophecy of Isaiah 24 is:

The Earth is broken up,
the earth is split asunder,
the earth is violently shaken .
The Earth reels like a drunkard,
it sways like a hut in the wind;
so heavy is the guilt of its rebellion
that it falls never to rise again..

Isaiah 47:13 says of it:

Let your astrologers come forward,
those stargazers who make predictions  month by month.
Let them save you from what is coming upon you.
Surely they are like stubble;
the fire will burn them up.
They cannot even save themselves
from the power of the flame.

Clearly the stargazers are called to look up at a heavenly object that is coming upon them which they cannot be saved from and which will burn them all up like stubble- the same event prophesied in Revelation 8 and 9.

After all this I had a strange suspicion about something. I did some research to see if any other holocaust victims had asteroids named after them and I discovered something equally disturbing. In 1995 asteroid 5535 was named for none other than Anne Frank who was also murdered in the holocaust and whose diary is widely read. Recently in 2002 the space probe Stardust flew past it and new measurements taken of it show it to be twice the size as previously thought averaging about three miles in diameter. Another catastrophic extinction level asteroid were it to strike earth.  So there you have it. An asteroid named for a murdered boy and one for a murdered girl representing all children murdered in the holocaust.
Let all those with eyes see, and those with ears hear.
